Noel, a 2 year old female Golden Retriever / Anatolian mix, bolted from a home in West Little Rock on 01/05/06 off Loyola in the Villages of Wellington area and was last seen running up the hill in a wooded area that leads to Belle Pointe in Pleasant Heights. Noel is very shy and skittish. She might not come to you. She is 78 pounds and is wearing a red collar with a 4 tags - a Texas Rabies, a Texas shelter tag, a Home Again microchip tag and a Foster Dog tag for Dogsonly. Noel knows her name. She is blonde with a small amount of black markings on her face. She was on a home visit and ran out the front door. We want Noel back and want her to receive any medically necessary vetcare in an emergency situation. Please be on the lookout for Noel and call us if she is spotted as we will come and search for her. Our number is 590-4267. Noel is not aggressive and will most likely run when she gets scared. She is food motivated especially if you have cheese or meat but you must put it on the ground in front of her as she will not take it from your hand unless she knows you. She would most likely not bite if you grabbed her collar, she would be very scared and most likely just submit. She rides well in a car and is housetrained and crate trained. Please help us find Noel and return her safely to Dogsonly. Thank you.

After searching 3 hours last night and another 8 hours today, I went back to the area tonight. Felt like with things being quiet and calm compared to the noises of the day, I went and searched the area where Noel has been spotted twice. Anyway, nothing, searched homes being built and the area/neighborhood in general. As a last resort, I drove by the house where Noel was left on her home visit. Although she was only there for 2 hours, there was Noel. Asleep on her bed the family left out on the front porch. I couldnt believe my eyes. After seeing so many things in the dark I thought was her, I wasnt convinced. I stopped the car in the middle of the road and she rose as if to bolt. I dropped to all fours in the front yard and cried out for her. She came running to me and then crawled to me on her belly. She was a repeated escape artist at her original home, the reason she was taken to the pound. I am sure she was used to being scolded or worse for getting out but she still returned to a home she had only been at for a few hours. I put her in the car and knocked on the door. The lady said she had recently looked out and Noel wasnt there so she must have come home right before I found her. She is still interested in adopting her and we decided since she has alot of traffic coming and going this weekend, we will wait until next week when Noel can have more quiet time to acclimate to her home. I will also take Noel for short visits before leaving her for good next time. We visited for about an hour and a half before leaving and Noel was much more relaxed and at ease. So even though she is still nervous and shy, she is doing extremely well for Noel. She is upstairs right now and will stay here with me until she goes to Donna's for good unless it doesnt work out. I think she loves it too much at the foster home and this would be a good transition place for now. I am so thankful she is home safe and sound. Clean as a whistle and not a hair out of place. NOW I can get some sleep :0) Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for Noel. They must have worked!!

Shelley, I'm so glad Noel's escape had a happy ending so far. Sounds to me like she liked the new home, even though she was only there a few hours. She returned there, which says a lot. Update?

Fortunately for Noel, she was on a home visit with a very understanding family. After a short stay at my house, I think more for me than for her :0) Noel went back over on Monday 2 weeks ago and has been there since with no more escapes!!! Hopefully if she decides to go and check out the neighborhood, she wont remember where that wonderful secret place is where she hide from me all those hours. It also didnt help that I found 2 stray dogs while looking for Noel. Fortunately, after me having to search for their owner for a week, they got back home safely also. Would have been nice if they had id tags and could have gone home the same day found but NOOOOOO. Noel has 4 id tags on, one with 3 backups :0) Noel is adjusting and doing well so far. She is the first dog we have lost and hopefully our last. I dont know if I can go through that again!
