FOSTER HOME URGENTLY REQUIRED.
Please read below if you might be able to help.

UPDATE 9/3/05 - Thanks to all those who kindly offered help and those of you who considered adopting Delta. We are happy to report that Delta is being considered for adoption by a family in Arkansas. We fully expect a successful conclusion to Delta's home trial, but It is possible that Delta may not get along with the other four legged companions at her new home. Please stay tuned to DogsOnly. There are many more companion dogs in urgent need of help due to Hurricane Katrina. If you subscribe to the DogsOnly RSS feed you should watch for Urgent Alerts in your feed.

Please note, this rescue is a National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network (NASRN) effort sponsored by DogsOnly. You can visit www.NASRN.org for more information.

Notes: URGENT: Delta is in immediate need of a foster or adoptive home. She lost her foster home to Hurricane Katrina and was evacuated out of the area. She is now in a very temporary holding spot in Shreveport, LA and is in need of a foster or adoptive home ASAP. Updated 8/30/05

Delta is a beautiful 100 pound, 2 year old spayed female Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees cross. She did not work out as a livestock guardian dog so her owner was going to shoot her and "feed her to the buzzards". Luckily, with a lot of help, we were able to get her to safety.

Delta is a sweet girl that loves attention. She is good with other dogs but prefers to be the "Queen Bee" of the household. She is housebroken and good with children.

PLEASE NOTE:
ALL ADOPTIONS REQUIRE SECURE FENCING

THIS DOG IS NOT TRAINED AS A WORKING LIVESTOCK GUARDIAN DOG. COMPANION HOMES ONLY PLEASE

NASRN may be able to provide transport assistance within a 1,000 mile radius, please inquire . They cannot transport dogs from east coast to west coast.
