Gabby

Gabby is an 8 month old female lab mix. She is on the smaller side, about 35 pounds but will grow a little larger. She's smart as a whip and runs like the wind. She loves to play with other dogs. She knows sit, well at least when you have a treat, and is doing great on her house-training. She is social and friendly and like a typical lab, she loves water and runs in the creek getting all wet. She is vocal and will bark so if you want a quiet dog, she's not the one for you but she does respond when she is told “no”. Her coat is like a Rex rabbit, short but very velvety. She likes going on walks and loves meeting new people. She loves her toys and will squeak her squeakies nonstop for an hour. She has a big toy box and she spends hours entertaining herself. She likes to play chase. She is crate trained and a low chewer. If supervised, she gets in to no trouble. She goes to doggie daycare daily and absolutely loves it.

Gabby

Typical of most litters of puppies Gabby and her littermates are sweet, friendly, and rowdy, so they will need a lot of training. Adopting a puppy is like bringing a newborn baby in to the house. Please make sure you have the time, energy, and money to take on the responsibility or raising a puppy. Gabby is used to living in a pack so will most likely cry and be lonely until she learns to live by herself. So please be patient when Gabby cries looking for her mother or her littermates. Gabby will live with her mom and litter mates until she is adopted, which will help Gabby to learn how to be good. However, Gabby will still need a lot of training after she goes to her new home.

Note that visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Gabby

Please don’t be tempted to adopt Gabby on an impulse. You should take the time to carefully consider the long term commitment, expense, and passion it takes to give her the home she deserves and needs. Gabby will reward you with unbounded love and devotion, but you must be committed and serious about your decision to bring her into your life. Remember, this is an adoption, not a sale, and we’re very serious about making sure that both you and Gabby are a good match for each other.

Gabby

An adoption fee applies to Gabby’s adoption, and helps to reimburse our expenses for all of the necessary vet care that has been provided to include: spay or neuter (mandatory - no exceptions, rabies, micro-chipping and registration, all vaccinations (including all puppy shots, rabies, adult boosters and Bordatella, grooming, Frontline for flea/tick preventative, heartworm check if age appropriate and monthly preventative for all ages while in foster care. The adoption fee does not reimburse for all expenses and covers only a portion of most expenses involved in rehabilitating our rescues and returning them to health. Please keep this in mind when you are adopting a dog.

Gabby and our other available rescued dogs can be met in person at our weekly adoption showing at the West Little Rock Petco on Chenal Parkway, across from Target and Home Depot. This is in the same strip mall as Old Navy and Shoe Carnival. Our showing hours are from 1-4 every Saturday except major holiday weekends. For up to date confirmation of dates and time, check back on the main pages of this site or subscribe to our Twitter Feed @DogsOnly

IMPORTANT - Please call Petco at 501 219 9907 on Saturday between 1:00 and 4:00 PM only or email contact@dogsonly.org 24 hours BEFORE coming to visit Gabby to make sure that she is still available for adoption.

The email contact to learn more about Gabby is contact@dogsonly.org you can complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored links at the top or bottom of this page.

Due to time restraints, we are not able to accept phone calls but we always try and answer all emails within 24 hours. All of our young and adult dogs are available for a 2 week home visit before finalizing the adoption process (local adoptions only). This is to help ensure it is a good match for all involved without making a final commitment. Puppies under the age of 6 months are not available to go on home visits. All of our rescues are in private homes and not available to be visited outside of showing times. All of our foster homes work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. None of our foster homes have cats, so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our program, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found. We rely solely on donations and are a 501(c)3 Humane Society.

TGabby you for your interest in rescue and in saving the life of a dog. Every day in the United States, 11,000 dogs die.
