Watson is a cuddly little 6-week-old male fluffy pup looking for a forever home and loving family. Watson’s mother is an Australian Shepherd Husky Mix who weighs about 45 pounds. Watson may grown to be the same size as his mom or could be larger. We’re not sure, because it is not known who Watson’s father was.

Watson’s mother was abandoned in the woods at a park. She lived along a pond, but was eventually found by a caring couple who took her in to their home and gave her fresh water, food, and love. Watson’s mother soon delivered 6 balls of fluff, so now they need homes. Watson has started his shots and worming and will be neutered soon. Watson should be available for adoption on or about May 15th, by which time he should be fully vetted. Watson has an effervescent temperament, and is brimming with joy.

Typical of most litters of puppies Watson and his littermates are sweet, friendly, and rowdy, so they will need a lot of training. Adopting a puppy is like bringing a newborn baby in to the house. Please make sure you have the time, energy, and money to take on the responsibility or raising a puppy. Watson is used to living in a pack so will most likely cry and be lonely until he learns to live by himself. So, please be patient when Watson cries looking for his momma or his brothers and sisters. Watson will live with his mom and littermates until he is adopted, which will help Watson to learn how to be a good boy. However, Watson will still need a lot of training after he goes to his new home.

Watson will most likely have a medium to heavy coat so he will need a mom and dad who will brush him and take care of his coat. Watson is lots of fun, but he will require time, money, and patience. Please keep this in mind when adopting a puppy.

Note that visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please don’t be tempted to adopt Watson on an impulse. You should take the time to carefully consider the long term commitment, expense, and passion it takes to give him the home he deserves and needs. Watson will reward you with unbounded love and devotion, but you must be committed and serious about your decision to bring him into your life. Remember, this is an adoption, not a sale, and we’re very serious about making sure that both you and Watson are a good match for each other.

An adoption fee applies to Watson’s adoption, and helps to reimburse our expenses for all of the necessary vet care that has been provided to include: spay or neuter (mandatory - no exceptions, rabies, micro-chipping and registration, all vaccinations (including all puppy shots, rabies, adult boosters and Bordatella, grooming, Frontline for flea/tick preventative, heartworm check if age appropriate and monthly preventative for all ages while in foster care. The adoption fee does not reimburse for all expenses and covers only a portion of most expenses involved in rehabilitating our rescues and returning them to health. Please keep this in mind when you are adopting a dog.

Watson and our other available rescued dogs can be met in person at our weekly adoption showing at the West Little Rock Petco on Chenal Parkway, across from Target and Home Depot. This is in the same strip mall as Old Navy and Shoe Carnival. Our showing hours are from 1-4 every Saturday except major holiday weekends. For up to date confirmation of dates and time, check back on the main pages of this site or subscribe to our Twitter Feed @DogsOnly

IMPORTANT - Please call Petco at 501 219 9907 on Saturday between 1:00 and 4:00 PM only or email contact@dogsonly.org 24 hours BEFORE coming to visit Watson to make sure that he is still available for adoption.

The email contact to learn more about Watson is contact@dogsonly.org you can complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored links at the top or bottom of this page.

Due to time restraints, we are not able to accept phone calls but we always try and answer all emails within 24 hours. All of our young and adult dogs are available for a 2 week home visit before finalizing the adoption process (local adoptions only). This is to help ensure it is a good match for all involved without making a final commitment. Puppies under the age of 6 months are not available to go on home visits. All of our rescues are in private homes and not available to be visited outside of showing times. All of our foster homes work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. None of our foster homes have cats, so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our program, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found. We rely solely on donations and are a 501(c)3 Humane Society.
