Sadie is a smart young adult Siberian Husky who loves to go on car rides, and can hear the refrigerator door open from a mile away.
Sadie is a rescued dog who lives with two other dogs that were rescued about 10 years ago. One is a male, and the other is a female. Despite the best efforts of Sadie’s owners, she still wants to be dominant over their older female. It would be best for all if Sadie found a loving home with a couple that understands the special needs of Siberian Huskies. In return Sadie will give unconditional love.
Sadie is very smart, loving, and playful. One of her favorite pastimes is to have her belly rubbed. She is also partial to tasty chews, spending time with people, going for walks, and car rides. Sadie loves to play with toys, but she’s learned to get the squeaky out of them. She can hear the refrigerator door open wherever she is, and comes to see if she gets a treat. She gets excited when her food is being prepared, and will talk to you until it’s all ready and done; it is very cute.
Sadie would not do well in a home with female dogs or cats.
Sadie has had her shots (DHLPPC Vaccination & Rabies Vaccination-3 year on 07-31-10). Heartworm test was a medium positive, taking medication DOXYCYCL HYC 100mg, on one month off one month for six months. The medication required to complete treatment will be provided by Sadie’s owners and will go with her to her new family. Fecal Exam (flotation) test was negative. On 9-15-10 she was spayed, pre-anesthesia blood profile was done at this time also, with good results. Sadie has also been receiving Frontline flea and tick medication.
Sadie is an independent rescue supported by DogsOnly, so she will not be available to meet every Saturday except for holiday weekends at the DogsOnly adoption showing at Petco on Chenal Parkway across from Target and Home Depot.
To learn more about Sadie you can send an email directly to her owners at email@example.com or complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored links at the top or bottom of this page. You can also send an email directly to Contact@DogsOnly.org
We always try and answer all emails within 24 hours. All of our young and adult dogs require a 2 week home visit before finalizing the adoption process. This is to help ensure it is a good match for all involved without making a final commitment. An adoption fee is charged for Sadie ’s adoption. Puppies are not available to go on home visits. All of our rescues are in private homes and not available to be visited outside of showing times.
Please don’t be tempted to adopt Sadie on an impulse. You should take the time to carefully consider the long term commitment, expense, and passion it takes to give her the home that she deserves. She’ll reward you with unbounded love and devotion, but you must be committed and serious about your decision to bring her into your life. Remember, this is an adoption, not a sale, and we’re very serious about making sure that both you and Sadie are a good match for each other.
All DogsOnly foster homes work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. Few of the DogsOnly fosters have cats in their homes so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our program, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found.
DogsOnly relies solely on donations and is a 501(c)3 Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons, and to provide education resources for dog owners and those with an interest in the wellbeing of dogs. DogsOnly believes that no dog should be left behind.
Thank you for your interest in rescue and in saving the life of a dog. Every day in the United States, 11,000 dogs die.
