Foxy Lady is a beautiful and happy little ChowChow Golden Retriever puppy who was found with her brothers wondering lost and hungry as a stray in Little Rock. She was picked up, and taken down to the pound for processing by Animal Services. It was all just way too much, and little Foxy Lady was scared half to death by all the barking, crying, and noises. When the vet came and picked her up for her spay, she was shaking all over, so much so that they decided to give her a reprieve and let her go to a DogsOnly foster home where she could relax and learn to trust the big scary world.
After a couple of weeks of cuddling, snuggling, fresh air, good food, good company, and oodles of love, Foxy Lady finally found her happy mojo again. A big ol’ tough senior ‘expert’ in all things dog called Alex the Germatolian (cross between an Anatolian Shepherd and German Shepherd) has been mentoring little Foxy Lady, so now she’s one happy little girl, and she’s completely forgotten about all the scary stuff. Her tail rarely stops wagging from side to side, and if it does, it springs up into a gorgeous ChowChow curl. Everyone she meets gets a cuddle, a helping of licks, some light chewing, and puffs of sweet puppy breath. It’s said that there’s no love like the love of a ChowChow, and Foxy Lady is living proof.
Foxy Lady will probably grow up to be a first-class canine companion. However she is not for a family seeking an "easy" puppy, because there is no such thing. Please remember that as beautiful and cuddly as Foxy Lady is at the moment, she will grow into an adult canine companion in no time at all. You should also be prepared for the usual trial of rearing a young puppy including the chewing, crying, potty training, and constant demands. For this reason we would prefer that Foxy Lady’s new guardians have experience with young puppies and understand their special needs. Remember, just like kids, puppies grow up real fast, and need lots of patience, love and attention along the way.
An adoption fee of $125 applies to Foxy Lady's adoption which covers all necessary vet care to include: spay or neuter (mandatory - no exceptions), rabies, micro-chipping and registration, all vaccinations (including all puppy shots, rabies, adult boosters and Bordatella), grooming, Frontline for flea/tick preventative, heartworm check if age appropriate and preventative, collar and 50% of basic training classes.
To learn more about Foxy Lady, you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored text links at the top or bottom of this page.Due to time restraints, we are not able to accept phone calls outside of our regular showing time at Petco on Chenal across from Target and Home Depot on Saturdays from 1:00 to 4:00, but we always try and answer all emails within 24 hours. All of our young and adult dogs require a 2 week home visit before finalizing the adoption process. This is to help ensure it is a good match for all involved without making a final commitment. All of our rescues are in private homes and not available to be visited outside of showing times. You can also meet Foxy Lady and find out for yourself how wonderful and happy she really is at the DogsOnly adoption showings.
Please don’t be tempted to adopt Foxy Lady on an impulse. You should take the time to carefully consider the long term commitment, expense, and passion it takes to give her the home she deserves. She’ll reward you with unbounded love and devotion, but you must be committed and serious about your decision to bring her into your life. Remember, this is an adoption, not a sale, and we’re very serious about making sure that both you and Foxy Lady are a good match for each other.
All DogsOnly foster homes work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. None of the DogsOnly fosters have cats in their homes so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our program, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found.
DogsOnly relies solely on donations and is a 501(c)3 Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons, and to provide education resources for dog owners and those with an interest in the wellbeing of dogs. DogsOnly believes that no dog should be left behind.
