Kelly

Kelly is a spirited and friendly little Australian Shepherd mix puppy who is looking for a family to love and a home to call her own.

Kelly

Kelly was found with her three litter mates, Sharon, Ozzy, and Jack lost, hungry, and thirsty in Little Rock. The little pups were too scared and too tired to run away from the Animal services officer, and poor little Kelly, huddled close to her litter mates, simply gave in and was pushed into a cold cage in the back of a truck and driven down to the animal shelter. The shelter is a frightening place for a small puppy. The cries, the constant barking, and the smell of fear is very stressful to small pups like Kelly, not to mention the heightened risk of infectious disease. Fortunately for Kelly and her siblings, they were spotted by a visiting volunteer from DogsOnly, and released to a caring foster home where they can run about and play in safety until they find their new permanent homes and families.

Kelly

Kelly will grow up to be a first-class canine companion. However she is not for a family seeking an "easy" puppy, because there is no such thing. Please remember that as beautiful and cuddly as Kelly is at the moment, she will grow into an adult canine companion in no time at all. You should also be prepared for the usual trial of rearing a young puppy including the chewing, crying, potty training, and constant demands. For this reason we would prefer that Kelly ’s new guardians have experience with young puppies and understand their special needs. Remember, just like kids, puppies grow up real fast, and need lots of patience, love and attention along the way. And just like Kids, raising a youngster into a healthy well socialized adult dog takes time and effort.

To learn more about Kelly you can send an email to contact@dogsonly.org or complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored text links at the top or bottom of this page. We always try and answer all emails within 24 hours. All of our young and adult dogs require a 2 week home visit before finalizing the adoption process. This is to help ensure it is a good match for all involved without making a final commitment. All of our rescues are in private homes and not available to be visited outside of showing times.

Ozzy

All DogsOnly volunteer fosters work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. Currently only one of the DogsOnly foster families have cats so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and other environments where the dog’s life is in jeopardy. Once accepted into our Program, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found.

An adoption fee is involved which covers all necessary vet care to include spay or neuter, rabies, micro chipping and registration, all vaccinations (including all puppy shots, adult boosters and Bordatella), grooming, Frontline for flea/tick preventative, heartworm check if age appropriate and preventative, collar and 50% of basic training classes.

DogsOnly relies solely on donations and are a 501(c)3 private Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons. This does not mean that there is something wrong with any of our rescued companions, it just means we help the ones others tend to leave behind.

Thank you for your interest in rescue and in saving the life of a dog. Every day in the United States, 11,000 dogs die.
