Blue is a stunning male Australian Shepherd mix who was surrendered by his original family to Little Rock Animal Services. Blue’s intake card doesn’t say why he was left to fate at the pound, but as more and more people find it hard to make ends meet, and are forced to leave their homes, the family pets are suffering also, and losing not only their homes, but also the people and family they love.
Blue is a big dog who thinks he is a lap dog! More than anything Blue loves company, especially when he's going for a long walk with someone special, or sitting together and just enjoying the moment. He is loyal and returns affection ten fold. Blue is astonishingly intelligent, and trys very hard to please. With a little patience, trust, and love Blue is going to be someone's very special best friend.
Fortunately for Blue, he was spotted and sprung from the pound by a visiting DogsOnly volunteer, and taken to a loving foster home where he can run and play with other rescued canine companions. All he needs now is a new family and somewhere to call home.
Blue will be available to meet every Saturday except for holiday weekends at the DogsOnly adoption showing. See the main adoption gallery page to find out where DogsOnly will next be showing canine companions for adoption. The email contact to learn more about Blue is firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can submit an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored links at the top or bottom of this page.
We always try and answer all emails within 24 hours. All of our young and adult dogs require a 2 week home visit before finalizing the adoption process. This is to help ensure it is a good match for all involved without making a final commitment. Puppies are not available to go on home visits. All of our rescues are in private homes and not available to be visited outside of showing times.
All DogsOnly volunteer fosters work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. Only one of the DogsOnly foster families have cats so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our Program, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found.
An adoption fee is involved which covers all necessary vet care to include spay or neuter, rabies, micro chipping and registration, all vaccinations (including all puppy shots, adult boosters and Bordatella), grooming, Frontline for flea/tick preventative, heartworm check if age appropriate and preventative, collar and 50% of basic training classes.
DogsOnly relies solely on donations and are a 501(c)3 private Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons. This does not mean that there is something wrong with any of our rescued companions, it just means we help the ones others tend to leave behind.
Thank you for your interest in rescue and in saving the life of a dog. Every day in the United States, 11,000 dogs die.
