Maisy is a full bred chocolate lab who is approximately 5 1/2 months old, and weighs about 40lbs. Maisy is a smart girl and is already crate trained. Maisy moved in with her current guardian when she was about 6 weeks old. She is a great dog, but unfortunately her family is not able to give her the attention that she deserves.
Maisy’s owner has an autistic son and labs are supposed to be good for drawing them out, but it turns out that another dog who was adopted at the same time as Maisy is the one that the little boy is bonding with. Maisy gets along really well with the other dog, but like most Lab puppies she needs a lot of attention, more in fact that the family is able to give to her.
This is a hard decision for Maisy’s family, but they know it’s the best thing to do for Maisy. It's really important to them that she find a good family and home that can work with Maisy and give her the attention she deserves.
Maisy is in good health and has an appointment to be spayed on February 27th. She is an independent rescue and is not in the DogsOnly rescue, rehab, and rehome program so she will not be available to meet at the DogsOnly adoption showings are every Sat & Sun at the WLR on across from Target and Home Depot from 1-4.
To learn more about Maisey you can send an email to her guardian at firstname.lastname@example.org or complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored text links at the top or bottom of this page. Due to time restraints, we are not able to accept phone calls outside of our showing times at (Sat & Sun 1-4), but we always try and answer all emails within 24 hours.
DogsOnly relies solely on donations and is a 501(c)3 Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons, and to provide education resources for dog owners and those with an interest in the wellbeing of dogs. DogsOnly believes that no dog should be left behind.
Thank you for your interest in rescue and in saving the life of a dog. Every day in the United States, 11,000 dogs die.
