Ginger is a six month old charming Golden Retriever mix puppy, who found herself locked up in the cold, noisy, and frightening kennels at Little Rock Animal Shelter. Ginger is a sweet and charming girl, and the shelter with all the barking, fearful crying, and smell of fear was a terrifying place for poor Ginger. Fortunately a visiting volunteer from DogsOnly spotter her sad eyes peeking through the bars of her kennel door. Moments later, Ginger was up in arms, enjoying the security of a warm hug, while she covered her new friend with licks of gratitude.
None the worse for her experience at the pound, Ginger is gaining weight every day and doing a lot of tail wagging. It won’t take her long to sprout into a healthy fifty to sixty pounds as a full grown adult. She is such a gorgeous girl, its hard to keep your hands off of her. Her coat is silky soft, and she always makes a fuss of everyone she meets. She is a very happy and active young companion and would love to have a family to keep her company and play with. She loves attention and would do best in a home with someone who has experience raising a young canine companion or someone who is willing to commit the time and training for a very young dog.
As puppies go, Ginger is well on her way to maturing, but she still has a ways to go, and with plenty of opportunity remaining to live up to the reputation of a puppy, her new family should understand the trials of raising a young canine companion. Please remember that as beautiful and cuddly as Ginger is at the moment, she will grow into an adult canine companion in no time at all. You should also be prepared for the usual trial of rearing a young puppy including the chewing, crying, potty training, and constant demands. For this reason we would prefer that Ginger’s new guardians have experience with young puppies and understand their special needs. Remember, just like kids, they grow up real fast, and need lots of patience, love and attention along the way.
You can meet Ginger at the west Little Rock Petco on Chenal Parkway across from Target and Home Depot every Sat and Sun from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Please be sure and call (501-219-9907) before you come to visit her to make sure that she is still available for adoption.
