TJ

TJ is a beautiful brindle Catahoula Leopard dog mix who adores other dogs and children, which is perhaps why he decided to sojourn on the doorstep of a pre school. One of the teachers at the school opened the door and there sat TJ bright eyed and tail a wagging. It must have been hard not to feel sorry for poor ol’ TJ, and sure enough, the teacher took a liking to his cheeky manner and friendly disposition and took him home.

At first life started looking a little brighter for TJ, and his new friend, the teacher, cared for him with love and attention as she worked to try to find his family. Together they lived in a small apartment, but the teacher was not supposed to have pets. TJ’s friend, the teacher, tried everything she could think of to find his family, but nothing seemed to work. Eventually time ran out for TJ, and the teacher was ordered to move TJ out of the small apartment. Fortunately for TJ, the teacher learned of a couple of kind hearted people who she was told might be able to help, and before long TJ was on the move again.

TJ

TJ is now safe and happy with his new found friends while they continue the quest to find TJ a home and family. They report that TJ is a friendly young Catahoula Leopard dog canine companion who is about 8 months old. He does indeed appear to love other dogs and kids, but his breed mix includes a herding instinct and a tendency to nip at feet and legs, so a family with small children might not be a good match. He already knows his basic commands including sit, stay and lie down. TJ has had all of his shots, has tested negative for heartworm, and is housebroken.

TJ is an independent rescue supported by DogsOnly, and so will not be attending the DogsOnly adoption showings at Petco in west Little Rock, but if you would like to learn more or even meet him you can send an email to his friends and rescuers, Bob and Ursula, at bgorden@ritternet.com. You can also complete an online adoption application by clicking the links at the top or bottom of this page or send an email to contact@dogsonly.org. You application or emails will be sent to TJ's guardians without delay.

If you don’t find that special companion you are looking for in the DogsOnly rescue, rehabilitation, and re-home program then please visit Last Chance Arkansas or one of the many other central Arkansas rescue organizations to save a rescued canine companion.
